Elegant Anarchy - Collaborative Food Event

Watch out for the collaboration between ArtyFarty Cooking and Zainab Asghar on Thursday 12th May at LS6 Cafe, Leeds from 2pm -3pm.
This event is a collaboration based around a cultural crossover between ArtyFarty Cooking and ZAHA, a Manchester based fashion brand which is inspired by founder Zainab Asghar’s East Asian heritage.
Her first collection entitled ‘Elegant Anarchy’ for Autumn/Winter 2011/12 takes its inspiration from her own culture and her status as a young British Asian growing up in politically anarchic times. The collection was initially inspired by the racism in 1970’s Britain and the restriction of racism that she feels exist as a strong undercurrent in society, is what influences her design work, particularly for this collection.
Thus inspiring this eating experience which is based on a clash of cultures stimulated by the contrast here with English heritage and Indian culture
Taking inspiration from the photography of Tim Walker, the theme of ‘Indian high tea’ where the anarchic undertones of Zainab’s collection are overshadowed by the elegance of a quintessentially British tradition- Afternoon tea- with an Indian twist!
DO NOT MISS IT!
